The
majority of my works are in cast bronze. Pieces are first sculpted
in microcrystalline sculpture wax and then created using the lost wax
bronze casting method. This laborious method is explained
in a link to Artworks
Foundry. Structural and suggestive shapes are cut from
bronze stock. Straight lines are juxtaposed to contrast with the cast
curvilinear contours. After many hours
of welding, grinding, sanding, and polishing, a patina is applied that
ages the bronze into any number of beautiful colors. A layer
of polishing wax seals and preserves the patina. From start to finish
this entire process requires many hours of hard labor. Each
piece takes anywhere from several months to a year to complete. Life-size
sculptures can take several years
